    1. With 9-foot ceilings, a 40-foot back wall, and solid oak floors, our soundproofed Live Room imparts a warm, lively, yet detailed sound to groups and solo artists of all sizes and styles.

Our drum sounds are second to none, and our room is especially suited to horns, strings and acoustic instruments, in general.

Natural light floods the space through a skylight and a 7.5’ x 4’ window onto our Control Room.

A spectacular view of the Manhattan skyline sets our Control Room apart, but of course our gear, experience and caring are what makes The Kennel really stand out.

The Ruby Room is a smaller space that we use to get a tighter sound on drums, guitars and vocals, or to isolate acoustic instruments when recording with full bands.

Our work spaces are climate controlled for maximum comfort year-round, and equipped with Wi-Fi Internet access.

  2. My experience at the Kennel was top notch. James Pertusi is, by far, the best engineer I’ve worked with. The quality of tone he recorded for my trombone reflects exactly how I hear my sound. The room has the warmth of the older jazz studios, with the level of sound control you expect out of the modern studios. I can’t wait to record at the Kennel again.
